Question 5: What happens to the temperature of a room in which an air conditioner is left running on a table in the middle of the room?

ANSWER

When an air conditioner is placed on a table in the middle of the room, it will not cool the room. Because if, on one hand, its evaporator takes heat from the room and cooling it, on the other hand, it also gives heat to the room through its condenser. Probably, it will increase the temperature of the room to some extent because some work is done by the compressor which is also rejected to the room as heat.
