Question 12: What happens to atomic number of a nucleus that emits γ rays photons?

ANSWER

 γ radiation is photon which neither have charge nor rest mass. Therefore, with the emission of γ rays, the atomic number does not undergo any changes. Similarly, the atomic mass also does not change with the emission of γ ray.
