Question 7: Explain what minimum number of Geo-stationary satellite is required for global coverage of TV transmission. ANSWER One such satellite covers 120° of the earth longitude. So, by simple mathematics, 360/120 = 3 satellite will be enough to provide full global coverage of TV. However, the point is stationing the satellite at proper positions so that there is no overlapping of the coverage area or some part of the globe is left uncovered.
