Question2: What happens to the time period of a pendulum if its length is doubled?

ANSWER

Formula for calculating the time period ‘T’ of a pendulum of length ‘l’ is given by,

Suppose we increase the length of the pendulum 2 times, then the new length is 2l . There the new time period is

Hence, if the length of the pendulum is doubled, its time-period increases by 1.41 times of the previous time period. Thus the pendulum will oscillate slower than the initial speed.
