Question 6: The measure of the angle θ in radians is given by,
θ = f(s, r) = s/r, where ‘s’ is the length of the arc determined by ∠θ and ‘r’ is the length of the radius of the circle (see the graph).

a. f(4.71, 3) b. f(15.71, 5)

Solution

a.
The given function is θ = f(s, r) = s/r.
Put s = 4.71 and r = 3, we have,
f(s, r) = f(4.71, 3) = (4.71)/3 = 1.57 rad.

b.
The given function is θ = f(s, r) = s/r.
Put s = 15.71, r = 5, we have,
f(s, r) = f(15.7, 5) = 15.7/5 = 3.14 rad.
