Question 18: What is color force?

ANSWER

Color force has nothing to do with colors. It is just a convention like positive and negative in the case of electric charges.

Color force is a type of strong force. We know that strong force keeps the nucleons (protons and neutrons) together in a nucleus. Color force is the force of the same nature (strong force) which keeps the quarks together. If the quarks move away from one another, the color force is pulling them back to remain intact (in one piece, barqarar).
